Hate Crime Survey

  1. I feel that Richard really didn't mean to hurt Sasha, but now since he did the damage, he regrets ever taking that lighter. He did do the right thing by writing a letter to the victim and everyone else that he caused pain to. He even said that he is willing to serve his sentence because he knows what he did was wrong. Although, I think that the other kids involved should also be punished because even though they didn't physically cause the crime, they still stood there and not only laughed, but stood there and let Sasha burn.

  2. Richard shouldn´t have done it. You shouldn´t have a lighter in the first place. He did do it on accident but you don´t really play with that type of stuff. I think the hate crime was too much because he said he didn´t mean it.

  3. Even though Richard didn't mean to do it i still think he should be locked up for it but I don't think he deserves that much time and im stuck on whether it should be a hate crime or not because he knew what he did was wrong, he took fault for it when he didn't mean to do it, he wrote a letter to sasha and her father for causing that type of pain he did.

  4. I dont think richard intended to burn sashas leg. He does deserve some kind of punishment but it should not be life in prison. He knew what he did he should have gotten a fine or a few months in prison but not life the only way to get life is if you kill someone. Because over time people change sometime for the best and sometimes for the worse.
